Wildfire Hazard Assessment (WHA)

Wildfire Services Group’s ground-based Wildfire Hazard Assessment considers over 180 points of relevant data in 5 categories: structure hardening (including values at risk), defensible space, geospatial/geoscience, ignition source, and overall risk presentation. The assessment is conducted by WSG’s Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialists and captures ground-level photographs, measurements, and many other bits of pertinent data. Standards are rooted in Cal Fire, FireWise (NFPA), and Fire Safe standards with aerial data capture available per request. This process often yields a Wildfire Hazard Score with the goal being to assess the risks and identify the hazards on your property.

Wildfire Hazard Score (WHS)

Wildfire Services Group has developed a wildfire risk measurement called the Wildfire Hazard Score. This desktop risk measurement utilizes findings from our WHA and provides a quantified and qualified wildfire risk rating from 1 to 10. The lower the number, the lower the perceived risk. Utilizing the same 5 categories, our WHS is able to convey our view of your property quickly and precisely. For properties that receive a score of 3.5 or above, we recommend a Wildfire Mitigation Plan, with the goal being to triage the property and set work order priorities to build resilience in the future.
